Jamie Baulch
Sports personality, Broadcaster, MC, Entrepreneur and Speaker

Jamie Baulch is probably most well known as a British sprint athlete and television presenter. He won the 400 metres gold medal at the 1999 World Indoor Championships. As a member of the British 4x400m quartet including Iwan Thomas, Roger Black and Mark Richardson, he won a gold medal at the 1997 World Championships, and silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games. He represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games where he won an individual silver and a bronze medal in the 4 × 400m relay. Jamie developed into one of the big personalities of the British athletics team, recognised by his peroxide dreadlocks for many years, which led to a promotional campaign with Vidal Sassoon.

Jamie has a wide range of experience in TV & Radio, as a presenter, guest and contestant. Jamie starred in the BBC One show ‘Super Stars’, was also a contestant on Sky One’s “Cirque de Celebrité”. He’s also appeared on “A Question of Sport”, as well as “Dancing on Ice” and “Celebrity Mastermind”.

More recently, the BBC commissioned a documentary surrounding the search for his birth mother “Looking for my birth mum”, which went on to win the BAFTA award for Single Documentary in 2015. Following the success of the documentary the BBC commissioned a second documentary “Jamie Baulch: The Search for My Birth Dad” which aired in August 2016.

Drawing on Jamie’s wealth of experience as a presenter and his expertise surrounding all things athletics he secured a role as a columnist for the Western Mail and has also been a broadcaster for Red Dragon FM in South Wales.

After his retirement from athletics in 2005 Baulch set up several different businesses including 'Definitive', his sports management company that manages sports personalities including Shane Williams, Dai Greene and Tasha Danvers. He also owns sports memorabilia company, 'Authentic Sports' and the 'Jamie Baulch Academy', which sends sports personalities into schools to encourage children to become more involved in sport. He also owns a sports silent auction company, ‘Bid - In' and “Call Bruce”, which is a PR company which merges companies and brands with celebrities to endorse products/brands.

Jamie’s own personal story is one of true mental strength and determination to succeed. The father of two is based in Cardiff with his partner, Cheryl and he continues to be a popular and respected voice in the world of athletics.

He is an ambassador for Barnardo’s and Cancer Research Wales as part of his commitment to support charities.

Jamie’s success as a former World Champion and Olympic Silver Medallist guarantees inspirational anecdotes and stories of how pure determination and dedication can achieve lasting success. Combined with Jamie’s skills as a speaker and entertainer – his humorous and approachable personality always coming to the fore – these qualities ensure he is able to convey your message and all of his experience and knowledge to any kind of audience.
