Digital Marketing Internship

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Intern to join our team and help maximise our marketing of Don’t Panic and our events. 

The role would involve:

- Management of day-to-day comms, including email marketing, social media and outreach to new and existing databases

- Liaising with event managers to ensure successful delivery of events

- Devising strategies to drive online traffic to the company/event website

- Utilising a range of techniques including paid search, SEO and PPC

- Evaluating customer research, market conditions and competitor data

- Pre-planning across all social media accounts

- Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing


Requirements of the role

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing or Business
  • Experience/focus within the digital sector
  • Experience of managing PPC, SEO and Affiliate programmes.
  • Understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy and best practice
  • Experience in email marketing and social media
  • Analytical and organised
  • Works well managing multiple projects
  • Experience in using CMS such as dotmailer, hootsuite or similar
  • Writing and developing engaging content with the aims or growing audience in the Search Market
  • Building and maintaining relationships with bloggers and influencers.

 

You will have brilliant interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organised, be able to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same. You should be able to think creatively and commercially about varied markets. If you can keep a cool head and work to deadlines, we want to hear from you!

 

Please note our offices are based in Ramsbottom, Bury, which is not easily accessed by public transport so unless you live locally you may need access to a car, although a driving licence is not essential for this role.

 

Benefits

We offer 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays and shutdown at Christmas. Our office hours are 8.30 – 4.30 with flexibility around these hours. There is free parking and additional benefits include a pension scheme, duvet days, birthday day off, limitless supply of coffee from our Nespresso coffee machine and breakfasts on Mondays!

 

Salary

6 months internship paid at minimum wage. Should you complete your internship and continue with the company subject to targets, you will be offered a full time permanent position and receive £18k per annum.

 

 


 

Event Executive

We provide full event and project management services to a range of national and regional clients including JustGiving.com, the NHS, Prolific North, PRmoment, Thinking Digital and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce to name just a few. We also run a number of prestigious own branded awards events including The UK Social Media Awards and the UK, European and US Search Awards.

The role would involve:

- Account management, for both own branded and key client events

- Managing entries/ticket sales

- Liasing with venues

- Event Operations

- Liasing with the Marketing team on event communications strategy

- Event Production, liasing with Creative team on event branding and design

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced event manager to join our team and account manage key client and own branded events. You will have brilliant communication skills, be highly organized, able to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same.

We are looking for someone educated to degree level, preferably in event management, with at least 12 months experience ideally in an agency environment.

Salary

6 months internship paid at minimum wage. £18k per annum

 

 


 

Sales Executive

We are seeking a Sales Executive to join our team and to help maximise our ticket sales and sell sponsorship across our amazing events. 

The role would involve:

- Contacting previous entrants

- Researching the market and related products

- Maximising entries

- Relationship building

- Responding to incoming emails and phone enquires

- Negotiating the terms of agreement and closing sales

- Challenging objections with a view to getting the customer to buy

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated, driven sales professional, ideally with at least one years experience in a commercial environment.

Benefits

We offer 20 days paid holiday and free parking. Benefits include a pension, annual bonus and duvet days!

Salary

£18k per annum plus uncapped commission, OTE £25k. 

 

 


 

Content/PR Marketing Work Experience

Don't Panic regularly offer unpaid work experience placements on a four week basis. This is an ideal way to gain experience of PR/Content Marketing in the events industry in a busy and vibrant agency where no two days are the same.

 

The role would involve:

- Producing content pieces across the Don’t Panic website and events

- Producing weekly blogs on the Don’t Panic website

- Outreach to new markets

- Developing a database of other PR contacts

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent creative writing skills
  • Ability to write in different styles and tones
  • Experience of producing high quality content to a deadline
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to form industry relationships
  • Time management and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Proactive attitude and the ability to generate new and interesting content ideas
  • Meticulous attention to detail, Impeccable punctuation, spelling and grammar

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of SEO
  • Blogging experience
  • Experience of producing social media content for business
  • Experience of/interest in the events industry

Education

  • Degree in English, Creative Writing or related subjects preferred
