Now in it's second year, the How-Do Public Services Communications Awards took place on the 9th of November 2010 and recognised excellence in the public sector.
Instead of a traditional sit down awards dinner with a price tag to match, the event incorporated a timely seminar which to help communicators with the challenges they face followed by an auditorium style presentation of the awards.
The seminar titled ‘Communicating Tough Choices in Difficult Times’ featured presentations from high profile public & private sector communicators, including Ian Ratcliffe, Head of Marketing and Communications, Stockport Council, Gareth Brown, Communications Manager, The Co-operative, and Tom Stannard, Director of Policy and Communications, Blackburn with Darwen Council. The presentations explored the challenges faced in communicating with both external and internal audiences and how best to achieve less with more delivering cost effective communications.
